  Oh well,  "nosmp noapic" in lilo boot parameters eliminated
  all but one processor, lets see if it stays up now.
  (The openjade (sgml processor) is uniprocessor c++ monster.
   Those others won't help in speeding manual compilation, and
   there are no other heavy tasks there, anyway.)
