error with provide

I'm new to this list (and zmailer), and have it compiled ok, but here's
what happens when I try to test it:

When I get the stage of running $MAILBIN/router -i, instead of getting:
                ZMailer router (2.2 #1: Thu Jul  9 00:00:00 EDT 1992)
                    you@hostname:/some/path/to/src/zmailer/router
                Copyright 1992 Rayan S. Zachariassen
 
                z#
 
I get this:
        ZMailer router (2.2 #1: Wed Aug 18 16:08:52 EDT 1993)
        don@nysernet.org:/export/src/zmailer/router
        Copyright 1992 Rayan S. Zachariassen
 
        provide: not found
        #

Any help is appreciated.
